Top Safety Score for Kia, Holden, Jaguar and Skoda models

ANCAP has announced its latest test results with five star ratings awarded to the new Kia Sportage, Jaguar XF, Holden Spark and Skoda Superb.

All four models are fresh to the Australian market and all happily satisfied the criteria for the top ANCAP safety score.

ANCAP chief, James Goodwin, said it was good to see the value focussed Spark get five stars.

“The updated Spark is a big improvement on the model it replaces but it is lacking in more advanced safety features such as a lane support system which was standard on its European counterpart.”

While Mr Goodwin also singled out the Kia Sportage for praise, but again questioned why safety features aren’t available as standard across all variants.

“The Sportage performed well in testing and includes emergency brake assist, hill launch assist and reversing collision avoidance as standard but unfortunately Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) is only offered on the most expensive variant.”
