Three awards for Alfa Romeo Stelvio from Texas auto journos

New York is said to be the place where if you make it there you can make it anywhere, but maybe for SUVs its Texas instead of the ‘big apple’.

Fiat Chrysler and their Italian car brand Alfa Romeo will be hoping that is the case after the Stelvio this week drove off with three awards handed out by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA).

The soon to arrive in Australia Alfa Romeo Stelvio was crowned Crossover of Texas, Luxury Crossover of Texas and the winner of the ‘Most Drives’ title at this years Texas Truck Rodeo.

Nic Phillips, President of TAWA, tells us he and his colleagues were very impressed by Alfa Romeo’s debut SUV.

“We were most intrigued to test out the Italian brand’s Stelvio and came away very impressed,”

“With so many highly competitive crossovers to choose from these days, Alfa Romeo has absolutely infused its Italian heritage and racing pedigree into a CUV (compact utility vehicle).

Stelvio delivers sporting dynamics while still forging a very practical vehicle that people will get a smile from driving each and every day.”

alfa romeo stelvioThe awards were handed out following extensive on and off-road testing, with consideration given to exterior/interior styling, off-road capability as well as overall utility, value and performance.
