Super Cheap Auto Safety Stands recalled

Super Cheap Auto Safety Stands recalled

A recall is underway amid safety concerns about vehicle safety stands sold nationally by Super Cheap Auto.

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the recall affects Super Cheap Auto (SCA) 1200kg Pin and Screw Type Safety Stands with the model number - PLU 203783.

The affected stands were sold between the 19th of February 2009 and the 26th of April 2016.

The ACCC recall notice advises that the affected vehicle support stands do not comply with the requirements of the mandatory standard for vehicle support stands, which is based on the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2538:2004.

Vehicle support stands that do not comply with the mandatory standard pose a crushing hazard. This may result in serious injury or death.

Owners of affected safety stands should immediately stop using the support stands and return to store for a full refund.
