Stunning sales surge for Mazda CX-9 in April

Australian seven-seat SUV buyers flock to new CX-9…

We declared it our 2016 Car of the Year and now the super-impressive new Mazda CX-9 is really making some big inroads in the large SUV segment.

VFACTS sales data shows the seven-seat Mazda CX-9 enjoyed a 914% increase in sales in April.

In total, 639 Australian customers took delivery of a new CX-9.

That result would have made the team at Mazda Australia extremely happy, however it’s the performance of the all-new CX-5 that has also got our attention.

In the first full sales month for the new offering, Mazda dealers delivered 2,166 new CX-5s – a number more than 25% higher than any of its rivals.

Other notable SUV sales performances in April included a significant jump (124.6%) in Mitsubishi Outlander sales, while the all-new Toyota C-HR found a very respectable 519 customers in the month.
