Do you get your car serviced at a dealership? Or are you happy to have an independent or franchise service centre take care of it?
A recent study of car owners in the UK found that of those people who have chosen to continue to take their car to a dealership for servicing and maintenance it was dependability and reliability that was the primary attraction for them.
The survey was commissioned by the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) and found 67% of consumers think franchised dealers are the safest place to service their car.
That corresponds with just 22% of respondents thinking independent repairers are the safest, and only 11% said they believed national chains were the safest option.
Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) CEO David Blackhall said the results are feedback new car dealers in Australia are receiving.
“Consumers see new car dealerships as dependable and reliable and are impressed with the state-of-the-art service facilities and feel more comfortable knowing the dealership is directly linked to a manufacturer.”
Do you use a new car dealership for your car maintenance and servicing requirements? Or, do you believe it’s a better idea to look elsewhere?
