In August, more than 11,000 of the new SUVs were delivered across the globe, the model contributing to the Czech car brand’s 6.7% jump in worldwide sales compared to the same month in 2016.
In total, 86,100 vehicles were handed over to customers in the month.
Skoda sales will soon be boosted even further with the arrival of another new SUV model, the compact SUV offering – KAROQ.
Sales and marketing chief, Alain Favey, welcomed the strong sales results in August.
“There is substantial interest in our top-of-the-range model, the Skoda Superb, and our large SUV, the KODIAQ, is also making a significant contribution to the positive development of our company.
“We are also expecting further growth momentum in the important SUV segment from the new KAROQ which will be gradually introduced to the markets from October.”
Some of Skoda’s best-performing markets in August included Austria (+35.1%), Belgium (+31.9%), Russia (+10.5%) and India (+76.2%).
Sales though were flat in China, however more than a quarter of all Skoda sales in the month (26,000) occurred in the nation.

In Australia, Skoda enjoyed one of the brand’s best-ever months in the local market with sales skipping ahead a hefty 59.5% in August.
VFACTS data shows sales for the year for Skoda are up 15.7% with more than 3,500 customer deliveries across the first eight months of the year.
