Slow start to 2017 for Audi

Sales data shows global Audi car/SUV sales were down in January…

A downturn in Australian Audi sales in January was mirrored on the global stage for the German premium car brand.

Local sales dropped 5.5% in January, while across the globe there was a 13.5% drop in Audi deliveries.

The car company telling us this was somewhat expected given how strong the brand started 2016 (details here).

Sales dipped dramatically in China (-35.3%) but finished in positive territory in Europe (+3.1%) and North America (+11.8%).

In total, around 124,000 new Audi cars/SUVs were handed over to customers in January.

Sales and marketing chief at Audi AG, Dietmar Voggenreiter, says he’s confident the Chinese market will bounce back for Audi.

“We remain optimistic about our future in China.”

“In Europe and North America we reached more customers than ever before at the start of the year.”
