There’s a limited-edition version of the Skoda Octavia RS coming to Australia, but at this stage only in relatively small numbers.
Confirmed today by Skoda Australia, the Skoda Octavia RS 230 will be limited to just 70 wagons and 70 sedans, though the local operation is trying to get more, at this stage though additional cars aren’t confirmed.
Boasting 169kW, up from the standard Octavia RS output of 162kW, the limited-edition cars also get an electronically controlled front axle inter-wheel lock (or VAQ).
Skoda telling us that the VAQ allows the driver to direct 100% of the power to one front wheel, providing the vehicle with more traction and grip to exit a corner.
While the RS 230 also boasts a glossy black finish on the 19” alloy wheels, rear spoiler, mirrors, grille and tailpipe.
Inside the cabin, Skoda has added black leather-appointed sports seats with red stitching, a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel and stainless steel foot pedals with rubber inserts.
Priced from $41,490 (wagon) and $43,190 (sedan), Skoda Australia boss Michael Irmer said he expects enthusiasts to quickly snap up the limited edition cars.
“The RS 230 has more power, a stronger spread of torque and – of course – a slick six-speed manual.
“Consider this also a preview of future editions of the Octavia RS.”
