Skoda officially debuts all-new compact SUV…
We’ve been covering the slow strip tease of Skoda’s latest new model in recent weeks and now we have not only complete photos of the KAROQ, but also all the technical data too.
Confirmed for Australia recently by Skoda’s head of PR, Paul Pottinger, on this Behind the Wheel Podcast, the new KAROQ is expected here later in the year, naturally though, local pricing and specs are yet to be confirmed.
What we can report though is that the new Skoda KAROQ will be a five-seater and there will be both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants available.
Standard features will include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
While Skoda will be building the KAROQ with a selection of five engines - two petrol, and three diesels, including:
- 1.0 TSI three-cylinder
- 1.5 TSI four-cylinder
- 140kW/400NM 2.0 TDI (all-wheel drive standard)
Except for the most powerful diesel, all engines can be ordered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or 7-speed DSG.
Again though, no word yet on which engines/drivetrains we will see in Australia.
In unveiling the new addition to the Skoda family, Skoda tell us the KAROQ is a sports utility vehicle with character.
We will bring you more details as they come to hand in our Skoda KAROQ News section.
