Simplified Hyundai Accent line-up arrives

2017 now sees just the one Accent grade

It’s a sales powerhouse for Hyundai and now the Hyundai Accent has been tweaked and the range simplified.

How simplified? Well there’s now just the one model grade available – Hyundai Accent Sport.

The big change is the discontinuing of the 1.4 litre engine, all Hyundai Accents now come exclusively with the 103kW/167Nm 1.6 litre unit.

It’s still available in sedan and hatchback though, and transmission choice is now six-speed manual or six-speed auto.

That means the previously available CVT is no longer offered.

While standard features in the new Accent Sport include 16” alloy wheels, cruise control and premium sports steering wheel/gear knob.

Entry prices to the Accent increase $500 with the changes, however Hyundai Australia boss Scott Grant says the model still represents the best-value buy in the segment.

“With such desirable new features, all for just $500 above the outgoing Active’s list price – Accent Sport represents an exceptional entry point to Hyundai’s range of cars and the great benefits of Hyundai ownership.”
