Volkswagen will finally have a seven-seat SUV to offer customers next year when a new stretched version of the Volkswagen Tiguan arrives.
The only issue, at this stage, is that Volkswagen might not be bringing it to Australia.
The good news for Australian families though is that the seven-seat Skoda KODIAQ, which shares the same platform as the Tiguan, has been confirmed for an Arrival in the new year.
In confirming the stretched version of the Tiguan this morning, Volkswagen said the extended version will be launched successively in North America, China and Europe before mid-2017.
The new Volkswagen offering will make that debut at the Detroit Motor Show next month and Volkswagen tell us it will carry the ‘Tiguan Allspace’ name in Europe.
While the models for North America and China will simply be called ‘Tiguan’.
A statement from Volkswagen says that as the name suggests, the new long version of the Tiguan boasts more room inside, and a longer wheelbase (+ 11 cm).
Both aspects ensure greater flexibility in the interior.
In addition, the Tiguan Allspace comes with an attractive range of equipment features.
We will keep you updated with further Volkswagen Tiguan news as it comes to hand.
