New luxury SUV in development

Rolls-Royce will take on arch-rivals, Bentley, with this new ultra-luxurious SUV – the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Caught in testing by AutoCar, the inaugural Rolls-Royce SUV will be in dealerships early next year.

The new Rolls-Royce offering, which we first reported on back in December last year, was photographed at a crash test site and the all-wheel-drive model is said to be in the very last stages of development.

Expected to be powered by the same V12 engine as found under the bonnet of stablemate – the Rolls-Royce Phantom, there are even reports that a possible plug-in hybrid powertrain from parent company BMW could be in the mix down the track.

The Rolls-Royce SUV will take on high-end rivals like the Bentley Bentayga and the best from Range Rover.

Described by the famous British luxury marque as an ‘all-terrain, high-sided vehicle’, we will bring you further details as they come to hand.
