Renault delivers CNG-powered truck to French Post Office

The French Post Office is now operating a compressed natural gas (CNG) powered Renault truck in Paris.

The Renault D is the first CNG-powered truck to be acquired by La Poste and is part of a widespread adoption of alternative energy and sustainable fuel vehicles by the French postal service.

Renault delivers CNG-powered truck to French Post OfficeThe CNG-powered truck joins one of the world’s largest fleets of EVs currently in operation.

La Poste boasts over 30,000 EVs at present, while the service is also trialling a Renault truck powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, called the Renault Maxity Electric.

Used for carrying mail and parcels in Paris and the near suburbs, the Renault Trucks D CNG emits virtually no particulates, smoke or smell and Renault Trucks tell us the vehicle operates just as well on natural gas as on biomethane fuel (biogas).

With a 19 tonne load capacity, 320 hp and a range of up to 400km, we will keep an eye on how successful the CNG-powered truck is for La Poste.
