Regional car buyers keen on online car sales

UK data shows people outside cities keen on online car sales…

There is no doubt that the online car sales revolution is happening and that’s natural for us to say – we are in the game ourselves (plug for motorclassifieds.com.au!).

But even we were quite surprised by this news out of Britain in regards to online car sales and where the most enthusiastic online buyers have been identified.

BuyaCar.co.uk delivery data reveals customers in the Scottish Highlands and many English and Welsh coastal areas are more likely to order their car online than those in the big cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle.

Austin Collins from the British online car sales service tells us the phenomenon is mostly down to simple logistics as people in the far-flung areas are further from a traditional car dealership.

“This dispels for us any lingering myths that rural dwellers are slower than city types when it comes to adopting new ways of doing things.

“It also shows the importance of the internet to rural communities, for whom visiting lots of car dealerships is a much more time-consuming and expensive task.”

Hyundai, Peugeot, and BMW have all began online new car sales in the UK in recent times.
