Refreshed BMW M5 here in September

New M5 picks-up competition pack and 423kW as standard.

The new BMW M5 will be in Australia in September.

BMW Australia says the new M5 will offer even better performance, comfort and value for money when it arrives in local dealerships in September.

After recently announcing upgrades for the sister 5-Series range the new M5 gets a host of additions, none more impressive though than the inclusion of the ‘Competition Package’ as standard.

Previously a $12,000 option, the competition pack gives M5 buyers an 11kW boost to the V8 engine, taking total output to 423kW!

In addition, the M5 gets upgraded suspension including a 10 millimetre cut in ride height with upgraded stabiliser bars; exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels and a sport exhaust system.

BMW says the new M5 will also feature a new M kidney grille, LED headlights and new design tail lights with thin LED light strips.

On the inside the M5 will feature a new M leather steering wheel, new chrome trim highlights around the control display and a full colour Head-Up Display with M view.

Phil Horton, managing director for BMW Group Australia, says the new BMW M5 is quite simply what the BMW M brand is all about.

“The BMW M5 was the first vehicle to create this segment, and for almost 30 years it has set the standard in it.  Now, with enhanced styling, packaging and performance the bar has been raised even higher.”
