Recall for Mitsubishi Outlander over wiper issue

2007-12 Outlander SUVs affected

Owners of ZG and ZH Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs will be asked to return their vehicles to a Mitsubishi dealer to have a possible windscreen wiper issue rectified.

The recall is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the affected vehicles were all sold in Australia between the 28th of November 2006 and the 28th of February 2013.

The recall notice advises that water may enter between the bonnet and windshield and cause the front wiper link ball joint to corrode, possibly resulting in the wiper link separating and the wipers becoming inoperative.

What are the hazards?

Loss of wiper function can reduce visibility and increase the risk of an accident.

When parts become available, Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer to have vehicle rectified.

Further info is also available from Mitsubishi on 1300 1312 11 and Mitsubishi Dealers.

This is the third recall for the Mitsubishi Outlander in 2017.

Other recalls for the popular Mitsubishi SUV involved faults with door locks and a software issue.
