Raikkonen says Ferrari will rise again

The days of Ferrari dominating Formula One are now becoming a distant memory as the famous team fails to consistently run at the front of the pack.

Raikkonen says Ferrari will rise againBut star Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen says he believes that’s about to change.

Ferrari managed to take both third and fourth place at the European Grand Prix and Raikkonen says if his team can continue to improve, it will be able to catch its rivals.

However, the Finnish ace said the first thing the team needs to work on is consistency.

“We have quite a bit of work to be done to be able to challenge them every race, every conditions, that it doesn’t matter where we go that we can challenge them,”

“It varies places, layouts, conditions. To be really comfortable and challenge them, we have things to improve.”

And Raikkonen says the Baku result was a perfect example of this inconsistency.

“If you take purely the result between the last couple of races, I’d say we were closer in Canada than here,”

“But then it swaps between different circuits, different conditions.”

Meantime Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has told Autosport that the team isn’t in a great hurry to re-sign Raikkonen for 2017 and beyond.

“We are looking, we are not in a hurry and I must say that he is not in a hurry.”
