Porsche and Mazda Share Concept Car Award

Mission E and RX-VISION share 2016 Concept Car Design Award.

The Porsche Mission E and the Mazda RX-VISION have been crowned joint winners of the 2016 Most Beautiful Concept Car Award.

Announced at the 31st Festival Automobile International, the Mazda and Porsche concept cars beat home fellow finalists; the Bentley Exp10 Speed 6 and Peugeot Fractal. The respected award is judges by a panel of leading figures from the worlds of automobile, media, architecture and fashion.

Unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in November, the judges said the Mazda RX-VISION exemplifies Mazda’s challenger spirit and is a truly striking rendition of its ‘KODO - Soul of Motion’ design philosophy.

While the all-electric Porsche Mission E, which will enter production by 2020, also won acclaim for its four-seat cabin and stunning four-door design.

And also at the 31st Festival Automobile International, Australian racing driver Mark Webber was awarded with The Festival Special Grand Prize by the exhibition judges for his successful 2015 season for Porsche in the World Endurance Championship.

Webber’s name has been added to motorsport’s roll of honour, alongside other great names such as Alain Prost and Jacky Ickx.
