After 54 years, Porsche builds one-millionth 911…
One of the world’s most-loved and admired cars, the Porsche 911, is celebrating a major production milestone – one million cars.
The milestone vehicle, a Porsche 911 Carrera S in ‘Irish Green’ won’t be sold, Porsche tell us the car is destined for a prime position in the Porsche Museum, that’s following a world promotional tour.
Dr Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of Porsche AG, says the 911 has been an enormous success for the brand.
“54 years ago, I was able to take my first trips over the Grossglockner High Alpine Road with my father.
“The feeling of being in a 911 is just as enjoyable now as it was then.
“That’s because the 911 has ensured that the core values of our brand are as visionary today as they were in the first Porsche 356/1 from 1948.”
