Orders open for Honda Civic Type R

Honda dealers open to taking deposits for new Honda sports car…

The hot hatch race is about to get that little bit more interesting with the all-new Honda Civic Type R getting closer to an Australian arrival.

Based on the well-received and generally quite impressive 10th generation Honda Civic, the Type R will take things to a whole new level with a 320kW/400Nm 2.0 litre VTEC TURBO engine under the bonnet.

Landing in Australia on October 1, Honda Australia boss Stephen Collins tells us local Honda dealers are now happy to take deposits for the Type R, that’s despite local pricing not even being confirmed yet!

“Our dealers have been telling us that customers are eager to put their names against a car so we’ve opened the order books early to allow them to secure their orders,”

“We understand the level of interest as the Civic Type R represents the pinnacle of performance for the Civic range and our faithful enthusiasts have been lining up.”

Interest in the new Type R Civic gathered further momentum recently with the car setting a new front-wheel drive lap record on the Nurburgring (details here).

We’ll bring you more news on the new Civic Type R in our Honda Civic News section as it comes to hand.
