The Volkswagen Passat 206TSI R-Line will be in Australian dealerships in November with prices starting from $57,990 for the sedan, $2,000 more for the wagon.
Boasting all-wheel drive and 206kW, the R-Line version of the Passat will also come with a body kit, 19” alloy wheels, LED headlights, flat-bottom steering wheel, leather trimmed seats and unique badging.
Promising a 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds (5.7secs wagon), Volkswagen’s sales chief, Ryan Davies, says the Passat R-Line will be a welcome addition to the brands performance car range.
“While the Passat remains one of our most well-appointed and comfortable cruisers, the R-Line is a genuine performance car – not just a sports kit.
“It’s both a worthy successor to the R36 and a car to throw a fright into the prestige brands.”
Volkswagen also confirming today that metallic or pearlescent paint would cost buyers an additional $700 and a panoramic glass sunroof will be available for an extra $200.
