Nissan backs Melbourne City FC

Nissan is backing the A-League club Melbourne City FC with news today the car company has signed up as the team’s official automotive partner.

The deal is a first after the FFA allowed car manufacturers to advertise with clubs for the 2016/17 season.

Previously, other car manufacturers were locked out of the league due to the on-going major sponsorship of the A-League by Hyundai.

As automotive partner, Nissan will get their logo on sleeve of the men jersey (home and away) and the sleeve of the women’s away jersey, as well as signage at AAMI Park on game days.

Nissan Australia boss Richard Emery says he’s excited to see the brand closely associated with such a successful A-League/W-League club.

“Nissan has a global partnership with City Football Group, which includes teams in the UK, Japan and the USA,”

“Today’s announcement is a natural progression of our strong association with, and support of, the world game,”

“Nissan Australia is excited to work with Melbourne City Football Club to further strengthen both our brands and commitment to Australian sport.”

While to mark the partnership the #23 Nissan NISMO Altima Supercar will feature Melbourne City FC branding at this weekend’s Townsville 400 round of the Supercars.
