Next-generation Mazda CX-9 revealed

L.A. Auto Show debut for new 2016 Mazda CX-9.

Next-generation Mazda CX-9 revealed - the new Mazda CX-9 will feature an all-new 2.5 litre petrol engine.

It’s a common sight in Australian shopping centre car parks around schools at drop-off and pick-up times and soon local seven-seat SUV buyers will have an all-new Mazda CX-9 to test drive.

As we reported last month, Mazda is introducing a new generation of the popular Mazda CX-9 and has used the L.A. Auto Show to show off the future model.

Featuring dynamic new styling, the new 2016 Mazda CX-9 will be quieter than the current model, according to Mazda, and will offer better fuel economy too. That improved fuel economy will come from an all-new engine – a 2.5-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine, known as the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T.

Masamichi Kogai, President and CEO of Mazda, says the new CX-9 takes a great product and makes it even better.

“Introducing the All-New Mazda CX-9 into the midsize SUV segment will strengthen our new-generation line-up,”

“Moving forward, Mazda will continue working to advance our entire product line-up, raise the appeal of the Mazda brand and build a strong emotional bond with customers.”

We will keep you updated with Australian pricing, availability and specification details for the new-generation Mazda CX-9 in coming months.
