Third-generation Audi TT goes back to the future.
Audi has shown off the next TT at the Geneva Motor Show and say the new model pays tribute to the breakthrough first-generation TT which was launched back in 1998.
The Germany manufacturer says the design of the new TT is reminiscent of the original TT in the use of strictly geometrical and mostly horizontal lines in the exterior styling.
The new two-door coupe also benefits from a longer wheelbase (37mm) and with overall length remaining the same the new TT now boasts shorter overhangs. While another 50kgs has been shaved off the TT’s waistline, making it up to 140kgs lighter than the first-generation model!
The new TT will be offered with a choice of two TFSI petrol engines and a TDI diesel and quattro all-wheel drive will come as standard.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Technical Development, says the new offering will meet buyer expectations.
“The Audi TT is the epitome of an authentic design icon and a top-performance driving machine,”
“With the new generation, we are making this technology even easier for the driver to experience – just as they would expect from a real sports car.”
