Toyota Prado Altitude back for 2015

Strong demand sees Toyota Prado Altitude back in greater numbers.

Toyota Prado Altitude back for 2015

Toyota Prado Altitude back for 2015 - the two piece tailgating makes for easy loading and unloading.

After strong demand last year, Toyota has decided to make another 1200 units of the Toyota Prado Altitude available for Australian customers.

The special edition model was launched back in August last year with a maximum of 900 built, they sold out quickly, especially to city-based customers, and now Toyota’s moving to meet the strong demand for the model.

Featuring the distinctive ‘naked’ tail-gate with an opening glass hatch, the repositioning of the spare wheel under the rear floor means there’s no secondary fuel tank, but makes parking in the city a whole lot easier.

The 2015 Toyota Prado Altitude boasts all the same added features as last year’s Altitude, including leather-accented seats and distinctive 17”alloy wheels, though because of the new Free Trade Agreement is actually priced $2,530 lower.

Starting from $65,990, Toyota Australia executive director of sales and marketing Tony Cramb said if last year’s demand for the model replicates in 2015 then buyers had better be quick.

“Customers in metropolitan areas accounted for a markedly higher proportion of sales for the restyled Prado Altitude than for the regular Prado diesel models,”

“The increase of six per cent reflects the added appeal of the new style among these buyers, and the 900 cars we had on offer were snapped up quickly,”

“As a result, Toyota has upped the order for the latest Prado Altitude by one-third to 1,200 cars, providing an opportunity to obtain further feedback on the style and convenience of the Prado Altitude rear design.”
