New leadership for TruckSafe

Ferdie Kroon takes the reins

There’s been a change at the top of the Australian Trucking Association’s (ATA) TruckSafe organisation with Ferdie Kroon taking over as Chair.

The Tasmanian risk and compliance manager with De Bruyn’s Transport replaces Stephen Marley, who has retired from TruckSafe after six years in the role.

Mr Kroon paid tribute Mr Marley for his work with TruckSafe.

“Stephen was the driving force behind the revision of the TruckSafe standards, with our new standards,”

“These introduce new risk management concepts into TruckSafe for assuring on-road compliance and require the staff of accredited operators to receive refresher training every three years.”

Paul Fellows and David Roger will also be new faces joining the TruckSafe board following the retirement of Darby Sullivan and Darren Nolan.

Mr Kroon said he looks forward to helping grow TruckSafe in coming years.

“I’m looking forward to working with the TruckSafe board and the ATA staff to maintain our position as leaders in safe transport operations.”
