The Toyota Crown is a model that made a pretty significant impact in Australia back in the 1960’s and 70’s.
Lexus later came along and took the place of the ‘luxury’ Toyota model in the local market.
Despite not seeing the Toyota Crown in Australia for 30 years Toyota has continued to produce the Crown for other markets, and it remains a strong seller for Toyota in it’s domestic market.
Now a new-generation Toyota Crown (as seen above and below) has been shown in Tokyo, and will make an official debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.
Production of the new Toyota Crown is expected to start soon.
Toyota telling us the new Crown was fully redesigned from the ground up and even tested on the Nurburgring circuit.There’s no official word at this stage of a Toyota Crown return to the Australian market, though we will keep you updated if we hear anything.
