V12-powered Phantom debuts

At the absolute top-end of the motoring world will be this all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Unveiled early this morning in the UK, the new car will satisfy the most discerning luxury patrons, according to Rolls-Royce.

Built on an all-new platform, the new Phantom welcomes a weight saving all-aluminium spaceframe that is around 30% more rigid than that underneath the outgoing model.

The new architecture, which will also be used as the basis of the brand’s first SUV, delivers the complete Rolls-Royce experience, according to Peter Schwarzenbauer, Chairman of Rolls-Royce.

“New Phantom is a powerful statement of design, engineering and Bespoke expertise.”

To further boost the famous Rolls-Royce ride, the new Phantom gets a camera system that scans the road ahead and adjusts the suspension proactively to best meet the conditions.

The new Rolls-Royce will boast 22″ wheels, the largest ever fitted to a car by the luxury marque.

Under the bonnet is completely new 6.75 litre twin-turbo V12 engine that brings 420kW/900Nm.

While Rolls-Royce has also focussed on making the new Phantom even quieter – including adding a mammoth 130kg of sound insulation.
