There’s a new player in the 12-seat bus market with a new Ford Transit offering arriving in Australian Ford dealerships.
Priced from $57,680, Ford tell us the Transit 12-seat bus is based on the mid-roof van with an uprated gross vehicle mass from 3,550 GVM to 4,100 GVM and nine-seats added in a 2-3-4 configuration behind the 3 standard seats in front.
While despite all the seats, Ford say the Transit still offers plenty of space for luggage behind the fourth row of seats.
Powered by a 114kW 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine, the 12-seater comes only with a six-speed manual transmission and can be driven by anyone with a regular full Australian driver’s licence.
Ford Australia boss, Graeme Whickman, says he believes the new Transit offering will find plenty of Australian buyers.
“Ford has a Transit model to suit many applications and the arrival of the Transit 12-seat bus further expands the opportunities in this segment,”
“The Transit 12-seat bus presents a great option for customers who require an economical, well-equipped and comfortable bus who make a living moving groups on trips big and small.”
