New Euro 6 engines for 2017 Fiat Doblo

The popular Fiat Doblo (RAM Promaster City in North America) will feature an updated line-up of Euro 6 compliant engines for 2017.

The engines are able to meet the tough Euro 6 emissions thanks to the introduction to the Fiat Professional Doblo range of a new Low Pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation system (LPEGR).

Fiat says the LPEGR lowers NOx emissions without the complexity, added weight and additional costs associated with using emission additives.

The LPEGR channels exhaust gasses away after the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

This allows the gases to cool through a low-pressure EGR cooler and then recirculated in advance of the turbo charger.

Fiat tell us the LPEGR solution is ideal for goods transport and campers where simplicity, reduced weight and low running costs are of paramount importance.

A new 2.0 litre 85kW MultiJet II engine is also coming to the range and offers significantly improved fuel economy over the 2.3 litre unit it replaces.

While a new 2.3 litre engine is being introduced to replace the 3.0 litre version of the Doblo.

The Fiat Doblo was named 2006 and 2011 Van of the Year and is priced from $22,000 in Australia, the diesel-powered range kicking off from $27,000.
