Competition is a good thing for Australian consumers and a new player in the auto parts/accessories segment will be welcomed by many Aussie car owners.
The giant North American auto parts chain, NAPA, is looking to build a network of outlets across Australia.
The first NAPA Auto Super Store has opened its door in Logan City/Slacks Creek, South of Brisbane.
Covering 2800 square metres, the outlet is owned by NAPA partners, GPC Asia Pacific, and will employee up to 60 people.
NAPA is one of the leading auto parts retailers in the USA, Canada and Mexico and has over 6000 stores in North America, boasting an inventory of more than 450,000 parts.
Managing director, Wayne Wode, says a big local presence in Australia is planned.
“The team and I are thrilled to see our store become Australasia’s very first NAPA Auto Super Store.
“The entire team and I are excited about the business’ future with GPC Asia Pacific, and will be staying on to harness the enormous potential to continue to grow the business that this partnership affords.”
While Rob Cameron, CEO and Managing Director of GPC Asia Pacific, says the location is just the start of plans to spread the NAPA brand further afield.
“We are privileged to have Wayne and his team join our GPC Asia Pacific family and we couldn’t think of a more fitting way to launch the NAPA brand here in Australia.”
“We see an opportunity to grow the NAPA Auto Super Store network across Australasia and we will continue to search for appropriate opportunities.”
The first NAPA Auto Parts Super Store in Australia is located at 60 Moss Street, Slacks Creek.
