Jaguar F-TYPE and XE seat-belt recall underway

Possible seat-belt pretensioner issues for Jaguar models…

A recall of current series Jaguar F-TYPE and XE vehicles has been initiated after a possible with the seat-belt pretensioners was identified.

The affected vehicles, all MY17/18 series, carry VINs within these ranges:

  • F-TYPE - SAJWA6AT4H8K41657 to SAJXJ6DL1HMK46354.XE
  • XE - SAJAB4AN7HA960925 to SAJAB4AGHL995575

The ACCC recall notice advising that the front seatbelt pretensioner may not function properly due to a deviation in the seatbelt initiator generant mix ratio in some initiators.

What are the hazards?

In the event of a crash the front seat-belt pretensioner may fail to operate when required.

Failure to operate can lead to increased injuries to the front seat occupants.

Owners of affected Jaguar vehicles will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to a Jaguar dealer who will inspect both front seat-belt assemblies for identification of the production date and corresponding part number.

If the seat-belt production date and part number is from the specified components at risk, it will be replaced.

If the seat-belt production date and part number is not from the specified components at risk, no further action is required.
