Kia Australian sales on the up but global sales down in January 2017…

Mixed fortunes for Kia in January 2017

Kia in Australia has started 2017 on the front foot with an exceptional January sales result.

Buoyed by the arrival of the all-new Kia Rio, unveiling of the Kia Stinger, and the exposure of the brand to millions of tennis fans at a memorable Australian Open, Kia sales locally climbed 28.9% over the same month last year.

But the news wasn’t so positive overseas.

The Korean car company has just announced global sales numbers for January 2017 and these show 190,002 units were sold.

That total is down from the 204,662 vehicle sales Kia reported in January 2016.

Bright spots on the global stage for the brand, aside from the local result, included a 20.1% increase in demand in Western Europe.
