Mitsubishi Mirage dominates resurgent Micro Car market

Micro car sales up dramatically in November with Mirage on top 2016…

The micro car segment of the Australian new car sales industry has been in free fall in recent months, however, in November 2016 Australian’s returned to the market.

Buoyed, perhaps, by parents buying first cars for graduating offspring, according to VFACTS data, micro car sales jumped ahead 89.6% in the month, compared to November 2015.

The encouraging month of sales in the segment helping to arrest the slide in the segment, now sales here are down 8.6% on the same time last year.

The Mitsubishi Mirage was again the dominant player in the market, while Nissan dealerships are still doing a sterling job clearing stocks of the discontinued Micra.
