Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander recall

Transfer case fault could lead to fluid leaks in Mitsubishi SUVs…

A recall is under-way for two popular Mitsubishi SUV’s - the ASX and Outlander.

Affecting 2013 models of the ASX and 2012/13 models of the Outlander, the recall relates only to those vehicles fitted with a diesel engine and automatic transmission.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is overseeing the recall.

The ACCC recall notice advising that improper machining of the transfer case cover may result in oil seal displacement.

This could allow transmission fluid to escape.

This could result in a drop in transmission fluid, possibly resulting in the vehicle becoming immobile without warning.

Mitsubishi-Motors Australia is contacting affected ASX and Outlander owners at their last known address.
