2016 has been a remarkable year by any measure for Mercedes-Benz.
The German car brand is on track for a record sales year and while it’s passenger cars and SUVs are finding a growing number of buyers all the time, Mercedes-Benz Vans are also on the up.
The commercial vehicle division of Mercedes-Benz has just reported global sales so far this year of around 324,000 units.
That number represents a healthy 13% jump on the same period last year.
The sales stars in the Mercedes-Benz Vans range this year have been the mid-size models - the Vito van and the V-Class MPV, along with the Sprinter, according to the Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, Volker Mornhinweg.
“The fact that we have set a new full-year record already in November is a great achievement on the part of our global team.
“With our growth strategy ‘Mercedes-Benz Vans goes global’ and a convincing product portfolio, we have clearly extended our leading position in the market this year.
“Alongside strong growth in the private segment, key contributions have been also made by a steadily growing number of volume and fleet orders from around the globe.”
“We are continuing to set the pace and, with the Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the first pick-up from a premium manufacturer, we aim to conquer new markets around the world starting in late 2017.”
