Mercedes-Benz dominates premium car race…
The VFACTS data is in and once again it was Mercedes-Benz that claimed bragging rights over it’s German and Japanese rivals in May 2017.
Mercedes-Benz delivered 3,686 vehicles in the month, a total 9.3% above the sales achieved in the same month last year.
While taking the commercial vehicles out of that total (offerings BMW, Audi, Lexus and Infiniti don’t have), Mercedes-Benz still leads with just over 3,000 passenger car/SUV deliveries.
This compares to BMW 2,081 (-18.9%), Audi 1,914 (-4.4%), Lexus 767 (-5.3%) and Infiniti 37 (-33.9%).
The best-selling Mercedes-Benz model in Australia in May was once again the C-Class with 895 sales across sedan, wagon (or Estate), coupe and convertible body styles.
Things are also looking good for Mercedes-Benz on the global stage.
Sales data shows the brand delivered a record 193,741 vehicles in May and that total represents an exceptionally strong 13.5% increase on the same month in 2016.
While sales across the first five months of 2017 for the three-pointed star brand are up 14.3%.
