Mercedes-Benz CLA, GLA and A Class models recalled

Recall on three models due to clutch fault

Mercedes-Benz CLA, GLA and A Class models recalled

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) are advising of a recall on three Mercedes-Benz models.

The Mercedes-Benz A Class, CLA Class and GLA Class sold between the 1st of November 2015 and the 30th of January 2016 have all been called back due to a defect in the dual clutch transmission.

The ACCC says a welded seam in the clutch assembly could fracture leading to loss of control of the vehicle.

What are the hazards?

A crack in the clutch could result in a loss of drive and consequently cause an accident injuring occupants or other road users.

Mercedes-Benz will be sending out letters to affected owners.
