Mazda extends Kangaroos support for three more years

It is one of the longest and most successful partnerships in Australian sport and now Mazda has agreed to sponsor the North Melbourne AFL team for at least another three years.

Mazda extends Kangaroos support for three more yearsThe sponsorship extension will take Mazda’s involvement with the Kangaroos to at least 21 straight years.

The car company’s current deal with the AFL club runs out at the end of this season, however Mazda today said it would continue on as major sponsor of the club for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons too.

Mazda Australia boss, Martin Benders, says Mazda is proud to back the Kangaroos.

“Mazda’s association with North has been one of our most successful sponsorships, so we are delighted to continue,”

“I signed the original contract, and the reasons for re-signing are as strong now as they were in 1999.

“Building a strong brand relies on strong and powerful, long term partnerships, and we are proud that the relationship with the Kangaroos has stood the test of time.”

While North Melbourne Chairman, James Brayshaw, said the club really appreciates the on-going Mazda support.

“Not many clubs around the world are able to enjoy the support of such a loyal major sponsor and we couldn’t be happier to be still working with Mazda in a very mutually beneficial partnership.”

Some of the other long associations between car company’s and sporting clubs in Australia include the Ford sponsorship of the Geelong Cats and Toyota’s long commitment to the Adelaide Crows and North Queensland Cowboys.
