Maserati sells 100,000th car

Milestone marked in brand’s most important market…

Italian brand Maserati has reached a major milestone with the sale of its 100,000th vehicle.

A Chinese businesswoman took delivery of the 2017 Maserati Quattroporte GranSport at press conference at the Auto Shanghai - International Motor Show.

This particular model came off the process line at Masearti’s plant in Italy and features a white exterior and tan interior, 21” Titano rims and red callipers.

Maserati broke new ground last year with a record 42,100 units sold worldwide with 12,000 of those coming from the Chinese market - a marked improvement on the 100 units in their first year in the country back in 2004.

China was the largest market for the Maserati Quattroporte and Head of Maserati Reid Bigland says it was for this reason they did the handover in Shanghai.

“Our remarkable performance in China last year was a major contributor to our record breaking global sales with China’s elites increasingly enamoured by Maserati’s luxury and exquisite craftsmanship.”
