Lexus RX to stretch to three-rows

Seven-seat Lexus RX to debut at LA Auto Show

The hunger for seven-seat SUVs continues in Australia, the U.S., and other markets and Lexus has responded by shoehorning a third-row seat into the Lexus RX.

Traditionally a five-seat offering (as seen below), Lexus confirmed this morning that it would be unveiling an updated RX at the upcoming LA Auto Show that would feature three rows of seats.

In confirming the seven-seat version, set to be revealed in V6 (LX 350L) and hybrid (RX 450hL) form, Lexus said the offering “will retain its stylish figure while also providing more flexibility for passengers”.

At this stage there are no internal photos available to show you, the only image provided by Lexus was the above teaser of the rear of the SUV.

We also don’t have confirmation that the offering will come to Australia (though it is extremely likely), nor is there confirmation that the seven-seats will be offered in the four-cylinder version (RX 200t).
