Lexus sports car features 3.5 litre V6 and hybrid powertrain.
Set to debut officially at the Geneva Motor Show in coming weeks, until now the drivetrain had been a mystery, we can now confirm the model will be powered by what Lexus describes as the world’s first ‘Multi Stage Hybrid System’.
Designed to deliver a sporting and engaging driving experience and achieve the best possible balance of power and fuel consumption, Lexus tell us the system closely aligns engine speed with throttle inputs.
Combining a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, electric motor, four-speed auto transmission and a lithium-ion battery pack, Lexus tell us the LC 500h will be capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in the sub-5 second range.
Total output for the hybrid powertrain is 264kW and 354Nm.
Beyond the drivetrain details, Lexus promising the new LC hybrid will offer a sharp and refined driving experience with ride quality befitting a flagship luxury sports coupe. Up to 21” alloy wheels will be fitted to the new offering.
We will keep you updated with further news on the Lexus LC 500h ahead of the models arrival in Australia.
