No word yet on this coming to Australia, however the team at Jaguar Land Rover SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) have another tweaked version of the new Land Rover Discovery set to land in the UK.
Known as the Land Rover Discovery SVX, the model has been designed to provide even more off-road ability than a standard ‘Disco’.
The offering is powered exclusively by a 386kW/625Nm 5.0 litre Supercharged V8 petrol engine.
Underneath, SVO has made suspension modifications, including adding in long-travel dampers and revised knuckles, there’s also larger 815mm diameter 275/55 R20 all-terrain tyres.
It will also be the first Land Rover with Hydraulic Active Roll Control (H-ARC) system, which the British brand says, “gives increased wheel articulation and improved body control”.
SVO has also revised the software calibrations for the auto transmission and transfer box “to offer the driver optimum control of gear selection in off-road manoeuvres”.
While there are some cosmetic tweaks for the Discovery SVX, including:
- Unique front and rear bumpers with protective skid plates
- Exposed Rush Orange-finished metal recovery eyes (rated to 6 tonnes)
- Integrated rear-mounted electric winch system.
- Exclusive satin Tectonic Grey paint finish
- SVX branded seats
- Unique Narvik Black side vents with V8 badging
- Narvik Black Dynamic grille
- Black roof rails
- Roof-mounted light pods
