Lamborghini Huracan Spyder makes Australian debut

Covers taken off new convertible Lamborghini Huracan Spyder.

Buyers of the impressive and relatively budget-priced (compared to the Aventador anyway!) Lamborghini Huracan now have the option of a convertible version.

Lamborghini has just taken the covers off the new Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder at an event on Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.

While Sydney’s weather didn’t exactly do its best to set the scene for topless fun in the sun at Bondi, the new Lamborghini offering, and the roar and grumble of its 5.2 litre V10 engine, certainly caught the attention of many passers-by.

Lamborghini tell us the Spyder version of the Huracan loses none of its performance or handling capabilities as the Huracan model was designed from day one to be a convertible. Interestingly, Lamborghini reckon the Spyder version delivers slightly better downforce than the coupe.

The Huracan Spyder roof extends and retracts in a very smooth motion that takes just 17 seconds. You can also choose to lower or extend a small glass window that sits behind the headrests, Lamborghini telling us this gives you the choice of quietening or enhancing the impressive engine sounds.

The roof is also available in three different colours and buyers of the Spyder also get just as many paint and interior customisation options as the coupe, 30,000 combinations in total.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder also boasting a super impressive 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 324km/h.

While we didn’t get a drive of the new offering at this event, you can check out our review of the Lamborghini Huracan coupe here. The new Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is priced from $470,800 plus on-road costs and is available to order now.
