Sales on the up for Skoda as new SUV arrives
Skoda has enjoyed another month of sales growth in May with data showing a 2.4% lift in global customer deliveries.
The increase though can mostly be put down to the arrival of the Czech brand’s new addition – the Skoda KODIAQ.
Just landing in Australia now and reviewed by us here, the KODIAQ was delivered to more than 7,500 customers in its first official sales month.
That number helping lift sales to just over 99,000 units and marking Skoda’s best-ever May result.
While another new Skoda SUV is also expected to help keep sales heading north – the soon to arrive new Skoda KAROQ.

While in Australia in May, Skoda sales were flat with 440 deliveries.
CFACTS data shows the best-selling local model for Skoda was the Octavia (138), ahead of Fabia (126) and Superb (102).
Commenting on the record global result, Sales and Marketing Chief, Werner Eichhorn, says the KODIAQ’s impact speaks for itself.
“Despite the challenging market conditions in some regions, we were able to sell more vehicles last month than in any May in our history.
“We are particularly pleased with the successful market launch of the Skoda KODIAQ.
“The first vehicle of our SUV campaign has been very well received by our customers.”
