The recently released new Kia Picanto now offers the peace of mind of a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating.
The independent vehicle safety advocate reports that the budget-priced Kia micro car has satisfied key criteria and was a worthy recipient of the top safety score.
Priced from just under $15,000 and coming standard with safety features including Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Hill-start Assist Control, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child restraints, the only area where the Picanto disappointed in the ANCAP testing was in pedestrian protection.
ANCAP Chief Executive Officer James Goodwin telling us that this is something Kia should look at improving into the future, however, he still welcomed the otherwise pleasing results for the new Kia hatchback model.
“The Kia Picanto reinforces that safety should not be restricted by budget with the Picanto providing an affordable 5 star vehicle choice.”
