Kia Carnival skips ahead of Honda Odyssey in sales race

The option of a diesel engine and the upgrade to a five-star ANCAP safety rating are just a couple of reasons as to why the Kia Carnival has found additional buyers in recent times.

VFACTs data shows the Kia is now the clear number one in the people-mover race in Australia.

The Kia model beat home the Honda Odyssey by 433 sales to 359 sales respectively in June. The Kia Carnival experiencing a 14.6% increase in sales compared the same month last year.

While the Honda people-mover suffered a 5.5% decline in sales in June 2016.

Across the first six months of the year the Kia model outsold the Honda 2,416 units to 1,483.

There were no sales recorded for the Mercedes-Benz Vito Wagon or Peugeot 5008.

In the people-mover market above $60,000 market, all 87 sales recorded in Australia were made by Mercedes-Benz, the Valente scored 35 sales and the V-Class 52.
