Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition arrives in U.S.

Jeep ups the Wrangler’s off-road credentials with new Recon Edition…

No word yet on Australian availability, however off-road enthusiasts in the U.S. can now place an order for the rugged Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition.

Based on a Wrangler Rubicon, the Recon Edition picks up an array of off-road focussed gear including strengthened axles, beefed-up diff covers (front and rear), shortened rock rails and 35” tyres.

Underneath, Jeep has lifted the Wrangler Rubicon by half an inch, added Tru-Lok locking differentials with 4.10 front and rear axle ratio and a Rock-Trac transfer case.

With a six-speed manual transmission the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition has a crawl ratio of 73.1:1.

While some of the cosmetic enhancements include Granite Crystal-painted alloy wheels, low gloss black grille, and bumpers, black leather seats with red stitching, and a dual-vented Power Dome bonnet with ‘Rubicon’ decals.
