A pickup version of the Jeep Wrangler is on the cards with many Jeep fan rubbing their hands together.
Rumours of its development have been heard on the grapevine and images have surfaced of a Jeep fitting such a description undergoing testing.
This revelation comes in light of news that Great Wall plans to buy out the company.
Wrapped in black canvas and camouflage, the Scrambler is said to be 5.2m long, considerably longer than the Jeep Wrangler JK, have four doors and a three piece removable hardtop.
In a blast from the past, the new Jeep takes its name from the original CJ-8 Scrambler built in the early 1980s, though the model name is yet to be confirmed.
What is confirmed is a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine though the transmission, towing and payload capacity remain a mystery.
