Jeep Grand Cherokee recalled over brake fault

A potentially dangerous brake caliper fault has been found in the current model Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the Jeep Grand Cherokee brake fault recall affect 2015 - 2016 (WK) models of the large Jeep SUV.

The ACCC recall notice advising that the left front brake caliper may have been cast from an incorrect material.

Under extreme brake application, the left front brake caliper housing may rupture, posing an accident hazard.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Jeep dealership whereby the vehicle will be repaired.

This recall is the latest in a string of recalls of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, previous issues with the SUV model have included problems with the cabin electrical system, fuel pump and Stability Control system.
